The New York Racing Association, Inc. seeks an experienced Grounds Supervisor to direct and control the activities of maintenance employees at Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack. The successful candidate will have a strong background in landscape maintenance, horticulture practices and excellent supervisory skills. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: maintaining barn areas as well as flowerbeds, trees, plants and lawns, and working on projects to improve or upgrade the racetrack landscape. The supervisor will oversee skilled trades and plan and assign work to maintenance personnel on a daily basis. In addition, the supervisor will be responsible for ensuring work is completed in a timely and cost effective manner, and is in compliance with established quality standards. The successful candidate will have at least five years of supervisory experience, knowledge of operating heavy construction equipment (loader, backhoe, skid steer, etc.), and experience managing multiple crews. Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred. Salary based on experience.
